Maine Warden Service Launches Youth Camp

Last week the Maine Warden Service launched Camp North Woods, a camp specifically designed to capture the enthusiasm youth have expressed in our hit TV series, North Woods Law, on Animal Planet. Held at the University of Maine’s 4-H Camp and Learning Center in Bryant Pond, the camp involved a long list of exciting educational opportunities, some of which involved shooting sports, paddle sports, fishing, hunting, outdoor survival, and map and compass.
The camp also featured mentor game wardens from North Woods Law including Game Wardens Peter Herring, Sarah Miller, Cody Lounder, and Jonathan Parker. Staff from Bryant Pond also worked tirelessly and provided an exceptional setting for this year’s camp.
The camp included 48, eight to twelve -year-old boys from Maine and all over the country. Starting July 29th, 48 lucky girls will experience Camp North Woods for their turn at this action-packed week. The mission of the camp is dedicated to providing opportunities to youth in the outdoors, where they can learn lifelong skills and the importance of sustaining Maine’s natural resources.
